In line with the Government of Canada recommendations and Cycling Canada, we are announcing that we have declined our race invitations for the remainder of 2020.
The team was looking forward to re-starting their 2020 season with the Colorado Classic before heading over to Europe for a fall block of racing, unfortunately the team management determined that the minimum health and insurance requirements for the team travelling outside of Canada had not been met.
Team staff are focused on developing athletes and people, and as such are responsible for providing as safe an environment as possible in an inherently risky sport. "We cannot expose our riders and staff to risks that are outside of the realm of sport. Not to mention, we also have barriers such as sourcing adequate and affordable travel insurance to cover expenses related to COVID-19. This decision was not taken lightly and it was made with the athlete's best interest and health in mind."
The Canadian riders will continue to train at home in preparation for the Canadian National Championships to be held sometime in September. They will be joined by the remainder of the team in late September to prepare for an early season start in 2021.
We would like to thank all of our sponsors who continue to support the team's vision. Thank you to InstaFund Financial, Hemp for Health, Factor Bikes, Easton Cycling, BioRacer, Praxis Works, Michelin, BBB Cycling, 100% Eyewear Canada, UnTapped, Kask, and 4iiii.
